OUR OBJECTIVES

A) OUR MAIN OBJECTIVES

Foster True Renewal of the Spirituality of Members

To achieve the true renewal of the spirituality of its members founded on the Baptism in answer to the universal call to holiness(cf Vatican II, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church Lumen Gentium, n. 39).

Encourage Members to Translate this Spirituality into Action

To translate this spirituality into action throught “works of the apostalate , such as initiatives for evangelisation, works of piety and charity, and those which animate the temporal order with the Christian spirit”(canon 298§1)

Encourage Members to Emulate the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Lifestyle

To enable members to model their lives afater the lifestyly of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Patron Saint of CWA

Provide Special Education and Training to Members

To provide special education and training to members in social development activities and family life in order to enhance their contribution to the integral development of the person and of the society

B) SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF CWA CAMEROON

To Foster Spiritual Growth of Members

To form an association of Catholic women that will foster the spirtual growth of its members by giving them doctrinal and biblical formation

To Act as a Link between Catholic Women and the Church Hierarchy

To establish a link between Catholic women and the Church’s hierarchy and to represent women in matters relating to the Catholic Church at all levels

To Improve on Women Participation in Church Activities

To make women more aware that they belong to the Church and for this reason should be actively involved in Church affairs form the family throught the Small Chrisitain Communities, and should work hand in hand with the Church’s Hierarchy.

Foster Women Contribution to the Growth of the Church

To enable members to contribute to the growth of the Parishes where they are, by actively participating in all Parish activities e.g. Fundraising, Church cleaning/decoration, Parish receptions etc.

Improvement of Standards of Church Attendance

To work towards improving the standard of Church attendance and the worthy reception of the Sacraments by members

Help support the Religious and Catechists

To help support the Clergy, Seminarians, Religious and Catechist spiritually and materially

Foster Prayers for one another and offer masses

To pray for one another and offer masses during Easter, Solemnity of All Saints, Commemoration of All Souls, Christmas and all the Feast Days of CWA for the material and material welbeing of members.

Encourage Members to participate in Retreats/Other Spiritual Activities

Take active parts in retreats organised by the Parish and in spiritual courses, retreats and recollections organised for members

Improvement of on Intellectual and General Knowledge

To improve the intellectual and general knowledge of the women through organizing courses on topics such as adult education, children welfare, sewing and knitting, gardening, Firstaid, cures and prevention of some common ailments, behaviour at social functions and parties, drama, games, family life education and empowerment of women.

Foster the spirit of Christian charity amongst members

To foster the spirit of Christian charity amongst members through visiting and caring for the sick, the needy and the imprisoned both spiritually and materially, organising and keeping wake on the occasion of a member, a member’s husband, child, parent, parent in-laws and siblings.

Encourage members participation in Income Generating Activities

To initiate and carry out income generating projects by women in their groups for financial empowerment.

Promote Rejoicing with Fellow Members

To rejoice with fellow members in regular situations in case of birth, paricular successes in life, anniversaries etc
