The mothers of the catholic women association, Buea Diocese, have reassured Bishop Michael Bibi; Bishop of the Diocese of Buea of their unflinching support and commitment to him as he leads the flock of the Diocese. This pronouncement was made January 19, 2024, as they present New Year wishes to the Chief Shepherd at the Bishop’s House in Small Soppo.
“We are here today, as an annual tradition, to present New Year wishes to our Lord Bishop. We are here to encourage the Bishop, to pray with him, to sing with him and to discuss with him. Also, we are here to tell the Bishop that the mothers are always there to support him” says the Diocesan President of the Catholic Women Association Mrs. Foy Veronica.
The mothers further commended His Lordship Michael Bibi for the tireless efforts he puts in place in transforming the Diocese of Buea.
Listening to these executive members of CWA and accepting their wishes and gifts for the Near year 2024, Bishop Michael Bibi expressed appreciation to them for such significant gesture. He thanked the mothers for all their sacrifices put in place to do the work of the Church and appreciated the unity and collaboration that exists amongst the CWA members. He invited them never to relent in staying united and to also to pray in season and out of season .
The Prelate also appreciated the mothers of the church for standing by him throughout his four years in office as shepherd of the diocese, while calling on them to stay firm and consistent in their faith amidst the challenges in the Diocese.
While informing the mothers of some important Diocesan upcoming events including the lunching of activities marking the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the diocese on the 18th of April 2024, the Bishop noted that 2024 is a significant year for the Catholic Women Association as they look forward to celebrating their Diamond Jubilee. He pledged his full support to the mothers towards the success of this celebration and offered them a sum of two million francs as support for the ongoing construction of the CWA Hostel.
